The SPIDER 4TX/1FX-ST EEC switch is an unmanaged 5-port Hirschmann switch. It is a DIN Rail-mounted switch with an extended temperature range which is -40 to 70 degrees Celsius. SPIDER switches with a standard operating temperature range can only be used at 0 to 60 degrees Celsius. Four 10/100BASE-TX ports on the switch have RJ-45 sockets, support auto-crossing and auto-negotiation, and can be used with 100-meter-long twisted pair network cables. One 100BASE-FX switch port has ST sockets and it can be used with multimode fiber cables. When 50/125 micrometer cable is used, the maximum cable length can be 5000 meters, provided that the attenuation does not exceed 1 dB per kilometer. When 62.5/125 micrometer cable is used, the maximum cable length can be 4000 meters, provided that the attenuation does not exceed 1 dB per kilometer.
Signaling contact is not available on the Hirschmann SPIDER 4TX/1FX-ST EEC switch. The power supply is through a plug-in terminal with a 3-pin power socket. The maximum power and current consumption ratings of the SPIDER 4TX/1FX-ST EEC switch at 24 Volts DC nominal input are 3.9 Watts and 150 milliamps, respectively.
