The MACH104-20TX-FR Ethernet switch is a rack-mounted Workgroup series switch. This Ethernet switch has been designed and manufactured by Hirschmann. It comes with 24 ports that can handle Gigabit Ethernet speeds and a redundant power supply. The redundant power supply that the MACH104-20TX-FR rack-mounted Ethernet switch minimizes downtime because it reduces the chances of a complete power loss or complete data loss. The 24 ports that this Ethernet switch is equipped with include 20 standard Gigabit Ethernet ports and 4 combo Gigabit Ethernet ports. The power supply and redundant power supply connections are both made on the back of the MACH104-20TX-FR rack-mounted Ethernet switch, while the Gigabit Ethernet connections are made on the front of the switch.

The Hirschmann MACH104-20TX-FR rack-mounted Ethernet switch from the Workgroup product line can connect to USB and V.24 interfaces for specific application needs. It can also connect to a signal contact, and the ports for the signal contact device and the interfaces are found on the front of the switch to the left of the 24 Ethernet ports. The 4 combo Ethernet ports are combo ports because they can be used either as 4 RJ 45 ports with twisted pair cables like the 20 standard RJ 45 ports or as 4 SFP fiber-optic ports, depending on the application. With the MACH104-20TX-FR rack-mounted Ethernet switch, the main power supply operates alone and the redundant power supply stays in standby mode during normal operation, but the redundant power supply activates in the event of a power failure in the main power supply. Both power supplies provide AC power in the range of 100 to 240 Volts AC.
