The Hirschmann RS20-0800M2M2SDAP switch is a compact and managed DIN Rail mount switch. It has 6 copper Fast Ethernet network ports and two 100 Mbps fiber ports. The copper ports come with RJ-45 interfaces and the fiber ports come with SC interfaces. The RS20-0800M2M2SDAP managed switch belongs to the RS20 series which can support up to 25 ports, are available with and without fiber ports, support dual power inputs, and have integrated fault relay and automation configuration delivery. The fiber ports on the RS20-0800M2M2SDAP managed switch can only be used with multi-mode fiber cables. The fiber ports on the switch are uplink ports whereas the copper ports are made to be used for host connections. The RS20-0800M2M2SDAP managed switch is designed for a standard operating temperature range of 32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit.

The Hirschmann RS20-0800M2M2SDAP managed switch can run on AC and DC power. The voltage range for the AC input is 18 to 30 Volts AC. The voltage range for the DC input is from 9.6 to 60 Volts DC. The switch is approved by the CE, ISA 12.12.01, and UL 508 standards. A minimum clearance of 3.94 inches on the top and bottom sides and a minimum of 0.79 inches on the left and right sides of the device is recommended in order to promote air-cooling. The RS20-0800M2M2SDAP managed switch mounts on a 35-millimeter DIN Rail. For grounding, a wire with minimum cross sectional area of 1 square millimeter should be used. To prevent electric shock, sharp metal objects should never be inserted into the electrical connection terminals. The terminals also should not be touched. The values for the maximum rated contact load of the signal contact should be observed to avoid overloading.
