The MM3 - 2FXS2/2TX1 managed switch media module is manufactured by Hirschmann and it is a Modular Industrial Communication Equipment or MICE managed switch media module. The MM3 - 2FXS2/2TX1 managed switch media module is part of the Hirschmann PowerMICE product line, which is a line of media modules and switches that host different media modules in an industrial Ethernet network system. The media modules like the MM3 - 2FXS2/2TX1 managed switch media module act as the interface for the industrial Ethernet LAN that they are part of. A PowerMICE switch system can normally host 4 media modules that are rated for communication rates of 10 or 100 Mbits per second and 1 media module that is rated for a communication rate of 1 Gigabit. Using an expansion module allows the switches to host 2 additional 10 or 100 Mbits per second-rated media modules.

The Hirschmann PowerMICE MM3 - 2FXS2/2TX1 managed switch media module is a 10 and 100 M/bits rated media module.  Every media module like the MM3 - 2FXS2/2TX1 module that is connected to a Hirschmann PowerMICE media module switch provides 2 to 4 ports that can be used to connect network nodes to the switch. The MM3 - 2FXS2/2TX1 managed switch media module provides 4 of these network node ports. This module is a managed module that must be configured and managed properly before it is used. It is easy to configure, however, and it is easy to mount on a DIN Rail by just snapping it into place. This managed media module and its host switch do not have a fan built into them for cooling during operation, but they can operate safely at temperatures of up to at least 60 degrees Celsius.
