The BRS42-8TX managed switch is a Hirschmann BOBCAT series managed switch. It supports the Ethernet network, and it also supports TSN for real-time communication in industrial environments and applications. Although the BRS42-8TX managed Ethernet switch is designed to be as compact as possible, it can support expanded bandwidth capabilities, and all that the users have to do is adjust the SFPs from 1 Gigabit to 2.5 Gigabits. The users do not have to make any changes to the BRS42-8TX managed Ethernet switch to adjust the SFPs. This switch is designed without a fan, and it should be kept away from direct sources of heat. The BRS42-8TX managed Ethernet switch is designed for DIN Rail mounting.

The BRS42-8TX managed Ethernet switch from the Hirschmann BOBCAT series comes with 12 ports in total that include 8 RJ45 or BASE-TX ports that are rated for data rates of 10, 100, or 1000 Mbits per second, and 4 fiber ports that are rated for data rates of 100 or 1000 Mbits per second. This managed switch needs to be managed directly by the operators and it supports multiple interfaces. The interfaces available for the BRS42-8TX managed Ethernet switch include a 6-pin plug-in terminal block for the power supply and signaling contact, a 2-pin plug-in terminal block for the digital input, and a USB-C interface for local device management and for device replacement. The BRS42-8TX managed Ethernet switch can be used as part of any line or star Ethernet network topology. This switch has an IP 30 environmental protection rating, its operating temperature range is from 0 to 60 degrees Celsius, and its storage temperature range -40 to 70 degrees Celsius.
