The OZD Profi 12M G11-1300 module is a Profibus repeater module. This Profibus repeater module has been designed and manufactured by Hirschmann as a member of the FiberINTERFACES series. The OZD Profi 12M G11-1300 Profibus repeater module is meant to be used for fiber communication in a Profibus field bus network. This module enables electrical types of Profibus interfaces to be converted to optical types of Profibus interfaces as long as the electrical Profibus interfaces are RS 485 types of electrical interfaces. The OZD Profi 12M G11-1300 Profibus repeater module can also be used to make the opposite conversion and allow optical Profibus interfaces to be converted into RS 485 electrical Profibus interfaces. All the ports on this repeater module can handle the transmission and reception of data and all the ports are mutually independent.

The Hirschmann OZD Profi 12M G11-1300 Profibus repeater module from the FiberINTERFACES series is protected by a housing that is mostly made of durable plastic with  a metal front panel. This module and its housing are made for mounting on a DIN Rail. The OZD Profi 12M G11-1300 Profibus repeater module can be used in any star, line, or ring topology, or in any arbitrary combination of these topologies. Additionally, its optical transmission technology makes it easy to integrate seamlessly into a pre-existing Profibus field bus network that uses the star, line, or ring topologies. The OZD Profi 12M G11-1300 Profibus repeater module supports glass fiber communication technology and a 24 Volts DC rated power supply. Its maximum voltage range is from 18 to 30 Volts DC.
