The Hirschmann/Belden interface converter and repeater component with the catalog number OZD Modbus Plus G12-1300 is designed for applications in both non-hazardous and hazardous locations. The unit meets the requirements of the ISA 12.12.01 Class 1 Division 2 and  ATEX Zone 2 standards and it has an IP 40 environmental protection rating. The housing of the unit is made of industrial-grade die-cast zinc material and it features the grey/blue design that is typical for Hirschmann/Belden components. The OZD Modbus Plus G12-1300 repeater module comes with 2 optical ports which include 4 sockets specified as BFOC 2.5 (STR) sockets and 1 electrical port with the standard pin configuration for the Modbus Plus network. A single electrical port is of the Sub-D type and it has 9 pins and a female connector.

The OZD Modbus Plus G12-1300 interface converter with a repeater function features quartz glass fiber optic support. The unit is equipped with terminal blocks with 8-pin connectors. The terminal blocks support screw mounting and they are designed for connecting to the signaling contact and power supply. The repeater should be connected to a DC power source and its power consumption should not be more than 3.9 Watts. In addition to that, the current consumption of the unit is 160 milliamps. The operating voltage range of the unit is 18 to 32 Volts DC. The OZD Modbus Plus G12-1300 interface converter has a redundant 24-Volts in-feed for its redundancy functions. The unit operates under the HIPER-Ring ring structure. The OZD Modbus Plus G12-1300 interface converter supports networks with cable lengths of up to 8000 meters for single-mode cables and cable lengths of up to 7000 meters for multi-mode cables.
