The Cisco WS-X4712-SFP+E networking line card is engineered to deliver high speed backbone and uninterrupted switch to switch applications. Supporting both wireless and borderless unified wired networks, the device delivers enhanced security, application performance and mobility combined with high energy savings. Moreover, the integrated 12 SFP+ 10 GE ports provide advanced dynamic quality of service and configuration flexibility as well.

Configurations
Generally, all of the interfaces are enabled by the manufacturer whereas the 10/100 Mbps Ethernet interfaces are auto negotiated duplex and connection speed. The interfaces on the WS-X4712-SFP+E line card negotiate flow control and can be configured through Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(40) / 3.1.0 SG or later. Moreover, the device has up to 48 Gbps switching capacity which can also be operated through the 12 available ports 10GE SFP+ or GE SFP.
The SFP+ and SFP can be simultaneously configured on the same line card for which there are no additional installations required. Moreover, WS-X4712-SFP+E line card also provides L2-4 Jumbo Frame support up to 9216 bytes. The bandwidth of the device is divided perfectly all across four 3 groups by providing 12 Gbps per port group configuration.
