Product Overview
The WS-C2960X-48FPS-L is a stackable Gigabit Ethernet switch that operates on the Cisco IOS Software. It not only provides advanced Layer 2 and Layer 3 features but also optional Power over Ethernet Plus power. It is designed for operational simplicity to lower the cost and deliver intelligent services.

It includes a fixed power supply as well as an external redundant power supply.
Switch Models and Configurations
It is available with the Cisco IOS LAN Base and includes the FlexStack-Plus and FlexStack-Extended capability, together with 4 SFP Uplink interfaces and 48 Ethernet ports. It has 740 Watts of available PoE power.
Technical Specifications
It uses a dual core APM86392 600MHz CPU with a 512MB RAM. It supports USB Type B and Ethernet RJ-45 ports as well as a USB Type A storage interface. It also has a forwarding performance of 107.1 Mpps.
Switch Management
The WS-C2960X-48FPS-L supports two on-device management features. First one is the Web UI. The configuration professional will provide a user interface for day-zero provisioning. This will enable easy onboarding of the switch. Second is the Bluetooth for over-the-air access achieved through an external Bluetooth dongle.
Stacking
Stacking of 8 WS-C2960X-48FPS-L switches is possible with the use of Cisco FlexStack-Plus stack module. The LAN Base feature set includes a stack bandwidth of 80 Gbps and a stack limit of 8.
Network Security
To reduce threats and limit network access, the WS-C2960X-48FPS-L switch provides a number of security features. These include MAC-Based VLAN assignment, IPv6 First-Hop Security, Cisco TrustSec, Private VLANs and Comprehensive 802.1X features among many others.
Scalability
Scalability is made simpler through the use of Switching Database Manager or SDM.
Power Management
The WS-C2960X-48FPS-L is one of the greenest switches around. It includes the Switch Hibernation Mode and IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet.
